The picture at the right shows two festival volunteers helping load up the kits for Church World Service that were collected by area churches and individuals to be sent to Haiti to help with relief in the aftermath of the earthquake. Kits included layettes, school and health kits, safe motherhood kits, and emergency clean-up buckets

A special thanks to all those who responded so quickly and generously to this appeal.  The need continues and stores at CWS may be depleted soon, so it will continue to be a good project for our Festival members.

Hope to see you here in September!

This collection of pictures records some of the activities at the most recent mini-festival from 2009 We need your help on the day of our 2010 festival -- Saturday, September 25 -- to repeat the process all over again.  We invite folks of all ages and all denominations to come together to be "workers in the Lord's vineyard".

We also need you to spread the word of the mission of Festival of Sharing to people throughout Southeast Missouri.  We hope to recruit as many churches as possible putting together kits for agencies in Missouri and for Church World Service that will be sent abroad.

The picture at the left is the Heifer International display set up at our  recent festival.  Heifer International celebrated it 60th year of serving poor families in both the USA and other parts of the world by providing them with a breeding pair of animals from which food and income can be derived.  Typically these are herd or flock animals like cows, goats, chickens, etc.  When the breeding pair produces offspring, the family is expected to share a breeding pair with another family in their area.

Church Youth Groups

Please consider bringing your youth to the Festival.  While we admit we need their youthful backs, more importantly it is an opportunity for them to participate in a trans- generational mission activity in their own backyard.  And don't worry if you can't come for the whole day, one half day would be great.

We challenge each of you to bring along with you an individual who has never experienced our festival.  We need to recruit new churches to our festival family.  If you would like a representative of the planning committee to speak to your church or organization, please contact  Mary Ann Taylor    coach@flashback-theband.com
